CORPORATE DIRECTOR OF SAFETY, QUALITY & ENVIRONMENTAL (SQE)


JOB SUMMARY:  The Corporate Director of Safety, Quality & Environmental (SQE) will work effectively to lead all divisions of HMS Global Maritime in the areas of Safety, Quality & Environmental.  The Corporate Director of SQE coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through the Company; reports to the CEO and serves on the executive management team; and assists and advices company managers regarding issues pertaining to their areas of expertise.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - the following are basic areas of direction but are not all-inclusive
 
·         Provide Safety, Quality, Environmental assurance, monitoring and support
·         Develop and maintain compliance with SQE programs, policies, and procedures
·         Track and investigate incidents and accidents, develop corrective actions/mitigation
·         Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans, as applicable
·         Coordinate Emergency Response drills
·         Coordinate and conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments
·         Develop a strong safety culture, corporate-wide
·         Perform "Designated Person" duties as part of ISM Code requirements
·         Develop and coordinate SQE training
·         Provide management reports as prescribed
·         Present professional level of customer service and appearance, as well as communication (verbal and written) to all - internal and external
·         Performs other duties as requested
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 
·         Bachelor's degree in related field
·         USCG License preferred
·         Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%
·         Previous maritime industry experience - passenger vessel and/or government contracting preferred
·         ISM and ISO Auditor
·         Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, and 18000
·         Management skills and abilities - at least 3 years of experience
·         Security clearance preferred or ability to obtain security clearance
·         Microsoft experience - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills
·         Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment
