March 3, 2008 HHI wins $5.7 billion in orders in FebruaryHyundai Heavy Industries has set a new record by winning US$5.7 billion in orders in February, the highest figure ever for a single month, reports Chosun Ilbo. The shipbuilding giant said Sunday that it won $5.7 billion in orders for 25 ships last month, including a $1.6 billion contract from Total for a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO). The February orders also include a $660 million drillship order from Greece and 15 high-value-added very large containerships. Including figures from affiliate Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, the company has taken $7 billion in orders for 35 vessels this year, as of February.
