January 24, 2008 MacGregor wins significant RoRo equipment orders for PCTCsMacGregor's RoRo division has received further contracts , worth about EUR 20 million, to supply RoRo equipment for 12 pure car/truck carriers. Eight of the PCTCs are to be built at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry in China, six for Maersk and two for Lauterjung. The other four ships will be built at Hyundai Heavy Industries, Korea, for EUKOR. "These contracts are an extension of existing newbuilding series at Xiamen and Hyundai, proving that MacGregor is known as a reliable supplier of RoRo equipment to our customers," said Magnus Sjoberg, sales and marketing director of MacGregor's RoRo division. The contracts at Xiamen are for design and key components and the yard will fabricate the steel structures. Each of the EUKOR ships features 1,600-1,800 tonnes of liftable car decks, all delivered by MacGregor. "MacGregor has unparalleled experience of fabricating equipment in China for the Korean market," Mr Sjoberg said. "Just recently, we delivered the thousandth car deck panel from our fabrication partner in China to EUKOR's newbuilding programme at Hyundai." All the equipment will be delivered during 2009-2010.
