Aker Yards gives profits warning

Aker Yards ASA (Oslo:AKY) today said that "as previously communicated, particular challenges occurred at some of the yards in 2007. Management introduced measures to address these challenges and improve the situation, and the implementation of them continued throughout the year."

"Given the variety of measures taken," said the announcement, "the Board of Directors has decided to give company management all the time available to prudently conclude the figures for 2007. Preliminary information shows that the results for 2007 may be somewhat below previous guidance."

The preliminary annual results of Aker Yards ASA will now be presented on March 3rd 2008 at 0830.
