January 18, 2007 India's ABG Shipyard books $229 million order
India's ABG Shipyard Ltd has started accepting orders for its new Dahej Shipyard, capable of building vessels up to 120,000 dwt. Yesterday it announced it had secured a major order from Pacific First Shipping Pte, Singapore for 12 vessels for its fleet expansion program. The order is for construction of nine AHTS vessels (five 82 m and four 180 m) and three 54,000 dwt dry bulk carriers. The total value of the order is Rs 10,305.0 million (USD $229 milliom). The final delivery will be in December 2009.
