Conrad books orders worth $32.3 million

Conrad Industries, Inc., Morgan City, La., has announced the signing of contracts for the construction of ten vessels totaling $32.3 million and delivery of three vessels in recent months.

Among the orders is one from Offshore Marine Contractors for three 175 foot class 110 ft x 64.5 ft x 9 ft liftboats, similar to previous liftboats built by Conrad.

W.C. Fore Trucking, McCleary Offshore Construction and Inland Barge Rentals have executed contracts for the construction of deck barges that range in size from 120 ft x 30 ft x 7 ft to 210 ft x 72 ft x14 ft.

Settoon Towing signed a contract for two 6,500 bbl. inland double skin barges that will be certified for crude oil service.

Foss Maritime Company signed a contract for two 26,000 bbl. double skin barges that will be equipped as bunkering barges for its west coast operations.

Johnny Conrad, President and CEO stated "We are very pleased that these companies have chosen Conrad to be a part of their fleet enhancement or replacement programs. Liftboats and deck barges are among Conrad's long-time core products, and the contracts are with valued, repeat customers. Double skin vessels are among our newer products, and represent an area where we are planning for continued growth. With these additions, our current backlog is approximately $58 million compared to $34 million at December 31, 2005."

Conrad also announced the recent delivery of a 255 ft x 56 ft x 10 ft all steel Crane Barge for the Corps of Engineers. This vessel is equipped with spuds, work shop and living quarters.

Other recent deliveries include a 3,200 horsepower 124 ft x 34 ft x 10 ft 3 in push boat for the Corps of Engineers' Pittsburgh District and a high speed Class "A" fireboat, the M/V Authority III for Plaquemines Parish.
