July 24, 2006 Aker's Brazil yard to build construction vessel Aker Yards has signed a contract with DOF ASA, through its subsidiary DOFCON ASA, for the building of a large DP Class 3 construction vessel. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 720 million (about $115 million). The vessel will be built by Aker Yards in Brazil, with planned delivery May 2009. It will be the fourth vessel for DOF built to Aker Yards' own OSCV 06 design. It will 138 meters long and will be equipped with a 250 tonnes offshore crane.
