Northrop Grummans names Williams as Senior VP

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has appointed Dave Williams sector vice president of Engineering for its Ship Systems sector.

Williams joined Northrop Grumman Ship Systems in 1988. He has held positions with increasing levels of responsibility, including section manager of Marine Technical, chief marine engineer, and technical director of DD 21 Gold Team. Williams previously served as chief engineer of Lockheed Shipbuilding for the second source design and construction of the Landing Craft Air Cushion. Other positions include chief engineer and general manager of Janoush Marine and design and development engineer for Sperry Vickers Marine Hydraulics.

Williams originally joined then-Ingalls Shipbuilding (now Northrop Grumman Ship Systems) in 1973 after earning a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University in mechanical engineering. At Ingalls, he participated in the design and construction of the DD963, LHA 1, and CG 47 class ships.
