May 9, 2005 USCG issues guidance on MARPOL Annex VI Even though the U.S. has yet to ratify MARPOL Annex VI on air emissions, it enters force internationally on May 19. U.S. flag vessels over 400 gt ITC on international voyages will require "Statements of Voluntary Compliance" SOVC and the Coast Guard has issued a policy letter on the subject.
