May 4, 2005 Aker Yards gets AHTS order Aker Yards has been awarded a contract worth approximately NOK 270 million (about $42.8 million) by Olympic Shipping AS, Fosnavag, Norway. It covers contruction of a UT 712 L type AHTS. Delivery from Aker Brattvaags' Soeviknes Verft is scheduled for July 2006. The vessel will be approximately 78 meters long, with a beam of 17.2 meters, a continuous bollard pull of approximately 200 tonnes and accommodations for 28 persons. Roy Reite, responsible for the Offshore & Specialized Vessel business area of Aker Yards ASA comments: "This contract confirms our long and good relationship with Olympic Shipping AS, and also our good and innovative relationship with the design company Rolls-Royce Marine".
