August 5, 2005 Maersk secures 95.6% of P&O Nedlloyd shares A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S says it now has secured 95.6 % of the shares in the capital of Royal P&O Nedlloyd N.V. At yesterday's end of the acceptance period for the Maersk offer, 51.5 % of all outstanding ordinary shares of Royal P&O Nedlloyd N.V. had been tendered. Maersk already 19.1% of the P&O Nedlloyd share capital in Royal P&O Nedlloyd N.V. and has now exercised its purchase option for a further 25% of the shares held by Danske Bank and Nordea Bank Danmark. In total, these shares represent 95.6 % of the total share capital of Royal P&O Nedlloyd N.V. A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S says it will make a public announcement regarding acceptance of the offer within five business days.
