Colle Shipyard gets contract for ASD tug

Houston-headquartered Signet Maritime Corporation has awarded a new-build contract to Colle Towing Company, Inc.'s Colle Shipyard, Pascagoula, Miss. It is for construction of a Robert Allan designed RAmparts 3200 105 ft x 38 ft x 17. 7ft (32.0 m x 11.6 m x 5.4 m) ASD tug. To be built and classed to ABS Maltese Cross, AMS, Ocean Towing Service requirements, it will be employed in Signet's U.S. Gulf and overseas harbor, ship assist and ocean rig transport businesses and is designed for more than 60 metric tons continuous bollard pull. Delivery is set for Spring 2011.
