Leevac wins order for lightering support vessels
Shipbuilder Leevac Industries, LLC., Jennings, La., reports that it has signed a contract with AET Lightering Services, LLC., Houston, to build two 187 ft x 46 ft x 15 ft Lightering Support Vessels with a series of options for up to six additional vessels. These vessels will primarily service the lightering activity of AET in the Gulf of Mexico, based at the Port of Galveston. Delivery is expected to begin in October, 2011.
"We are very excited about having this opportunity to build a relationship with AET," commented owner Christian Vaccari.
AET is currently investing in a new fleet of workboats and enhancing its shore side support facilities in Galveston.
