Navatek to build unmanned vessel for Singapore Navy
Pacific Business News reports that Honolulu shipbuilder Navatek Ltd. has won a $485,000 contract to build a 30 ft unmanned combat vessel for the Singapore Navy.
"Outfitted with sensors and weapons, these boats can perform dangerous missions without risking human lives," said Navatek President Steven Loui.
Navatek will design and build the unmanned surface vessel (USV), at its facilities at Pier 41 in Honolulu.
Last year Navatek won a $416,000 contract for a similar project for Singapore.
