ISPS compliance still ticking upwards
IMO today released new comp[liance figures from its ongoing survey of selected IMO member governments and organizations with consultative status at IMO.
The 39 governments that responded to the survey represent 83.6 percent of world merchant shipping by gross tonnage and 67.4 percent by number of ships.
While the number of ships coming into compliance is somewhat better than shown by IMO's previous data, released on June 11, the number of port facilities in compliance remains worryingly low.
