Conrad Shipbuilding gets towboat order

Conrad Shipyard L.L.C., Morgan City, La., has been awarded an $8,923,139 firm-fixed-price contract for design, construction, test and delivery of a welded steel towboat. Work will be performed in Morgan City, La., and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

There were 50 bids solicited on May 14, 2004, and two bids were received.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity.
