January 16, 2004 Smit to refloat "Pride of America" Smit Salvage has been awarded a contract by Germany's Lloyd Werft from Germany to salvage the cruise ship Pride of America in Bremerhaven. The cruise ship newbuilding 'Pride of America' partly sank during a storm on Tuesday night. Smit's salvage team, consisting of a salvage master, divers and nautical experts, arrived in Bremen on Wednesday. The team's mission is to upright the partly flooded cruise ship. |
