Security regs at OMB
In his ever useful newsletter "Maritime Items," Dennis Bryant of Haight Gardner Holland & Knight reports that the U.S. Coast Guard has submitted the following maritime security interim regulations to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review:

  • Implementation of National Maritime Security Initiatives
  •
  •  Area Maritime Security
  •
  • Vessel Security
  •
  • Facility Security
  •
  •  Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Facility Security
  •
  • Automatic Identification System (AIS) Vessel Carriage Requirement

OMB review generally takes about 60 days, but publication of these rules in the Federal Register will probably occur on or about July 1, 2003
