The Miami Herald reports that Carnival Corp pleaded guilty today to federal charges relating to it falsifying records after it discharged contaminated oil, according to Aloyma Sanchez, spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Miami. After the plea, U.S. District Court Judge K. Michael Moore sentenced Carnival to 5 years probation, fined it $18 million, and placed the company on an envrinonmental compliance program. |
